Book of the month - May

A Reliable Wife is Robert Goolrick  first novel and I have to say that he is an extremely gifted writer. The novel takes place back in 1907 during a Wisconsin winter, and its about a wealthy man who posts an ad on a newspaper to find a wife after being lonely for 20 years. The writer description about the location and time era is amazing. I cant really explain his writing style but I was blown away by the way he told the story. What really got my attention were the events, they were unpredictable. It seems like the book is designed to make the reader understand the motives of the characters or people in general. Understand why people do things and why decisions are made. It is a great book to make you think about human nature and human motives.
