The Perfect Trio for a Fresh Face

We've posted two great rituals to follow/use whenever you need to look super fresh here and here.

Now we have one more addition to complete this trio: Mac Fix+.

What seems like a mundane spray for your face (pre or post-make up) is actually one mega product. Not only does it set your makeup, give you an astounding glow, but it is like a boost of vitamin. I guarantee you will instantly feel refreshed.

I have used this product when I needed to go out but was really tired. This spray will make you look and feel like you are well rested and slept well. It is the ultimate cheat!

Lipsticks You Must Have

Tom Ford's lipstick line is a must have. The texture is the perfect balance between matte and moist. Its creamy but without being too shiny. The pigmentation in the color is outstanding. Colors we recommend are Pink Adobe (perfect beige pink) and Casablanca (nude purplish). If you're not a fan of natural colors and are looking for something a little more bold, then Cherry Lush (luscious red color) and Violet Fatale (deep purple) are some great choices.

Update Your Summer Scent

Jo Malone's new perfumes, London Blooms Collection, seem very summery and fresh. Although I haven't tried them yet, they sound like a great addition to updating for summer.

I would love to try all three, but I'm particularly interested in Peony & Moss.

Chanel's Spring 2012 nail polish colors are as sweet as expected. The colors are so summery and the names define summer!

I find the names adorable and unexpectedly vivid: April, May, & June!

Which color do you prefer?

How to shave ? (Men's Cure for ingrow hair)

This post is dedicated for our Male viewers. So here you go :
1- Wash area with non irritant soap, and use a rough wash cloth in areas with "ingrown hairs".
2- Rinse area with water, then compress face with WARM tap water for several minutes.
3- Using a shaving cream of your choice, massage moderate amount of lather on area to be shaved ( do not allow to dry; if it does, reapply it)
4- Use a sharp blade and shave WITH the grain/direction of the hair using short even strokes (no more than twice over one area)
5- After shaving, rinse with tap water and then compress with COLD water for 5 minutes.
6- Using a magnifying mirror, search for and dislodge any embedded hairs with a STERILE needle/toothpick.
7- Finally, apply the most soothing aftershave preparation of your choice. If excess, a topical corticosteroid cream or lotion (1% hydrocortisone) can be used as the aftershave preparation.

Best and Worst Blusher of the season

The BEST blush of the season

Goes to Blush Ombre From MAC Daphne Guinness Collection
(The complexion creates the perfect tone)

The WORST Blusher

Goes to Stila Custom color blush
(it doesn't adjust well, you might as well choose the right tone for you and save yourself the very bright clowny blusher effect)

Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips

I saw these strips in the store the other day and I picked one of them to see if it is as good as the advertisement claims. To my surprise it was very easy to apply and it only took me 10 minutes to do my nails. I got so many compliments today on my nails and I'm officially obsessed with this product!
And the final result actually is as good as the advertisement.
PS: To last longer apply a top coat on your nails

Pedicure Police!

If you suffer from recurring ingrown nails, then you must read this post.
Most beauty salons (if you're a female) aren't professionals in dealing with ingrown nails. For example, they'll cut the nail in a round shape as opposed to a straight line. This will eventually cause ingrown nails to keep recurring.
If you're a male you probably cut your toenails yourself and also might cut it in the wrong way and cause ingrown nails to happen again and again. Also, you might cut your nail to short or too round and eventually make the nail look deformed.
Most females are prone to ingrown nails because of tight fitting round/ pointy toe shoes.
Sometimes its not even an ingrown nail, it could actually be hard skin that is under the nail and it causes pain when your keep wearing tight shoes.
This all leads me to what most people should do to fix this problem: Dr. Scholl's Pedicures. Not only are the technicians all nail professionals, but they also know how to fix most foot problems.

I recommend Sawsan, she's a great technician.

Finally Tangle Free!

When we were younger, the secret to tangle free hair was simply Johnson & Johnson's No More Tangles shampoo.

As we grew older with all the damage we have done to our hair (sun, heat damage, color, etc), its not as simple. While many detangling sprays work wonders, it doesn't make the hair 100% tangle free.

I had lost hope until I was introduced to the Tangle Teezer at Eden Salon & Spa.

You should only brush hair when its dry, unless you comb wet hair with a wide tooth comb. However, you can easily brush soaking wet hair using the Tangle Teezer without tugging your hair or causing any damage. The Tangle Teezer is completely pain free. It works in minutes as you quickly brush your tangles out. Its a must try. I was very skeptical at first but I had to try it to believe it.

Its highly recommended. Also, it comes in all sorts of fun colors.

PS: People in Japan who have naturally tangle free hair claim that this brush adds shine to their hair

Pamper your hair

This is an amazing product for our hair. Try Eden Salon & Spa's Macadamia Treatment where they use the complete line of products (shampoo, mask, and serum).

Most "7amam zaits" actually leave your hair dryer than when you first came but this doesn't. Not only does this make your hair frizz-free, and soft, but it also makes it smell amazing!

Recommended: Do this treatment once a week.

The results are fantastic and instant!

Magnetic Nail Polish

I finally tried the Inc. Magnetic polish. And let me tell you this.. its AMAZING! The result you get from the magnets are unique!
It took me exactly 15 minutes to do my nails. The result felt like I did it at a nail lounge. The best thing about it; is that its so easy to do. Here's the steps:
1) apply the first coat to all 10 nails.
2) apply a second coat on one nail at a time then hold the magnetic nail polish cap close to the nail for 5 seconds.
And that's it !!

PS: you can find Inc. Magnetic polish at Sephora

This Works: Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler

Shu Uemera's eyelash curlers are by far the best eyelash curlers in the market. It is a Japanese brand, and Japanese eyelashes are known to be rebeliously straight. I've tried different brands like Revlon and many others, but have never found one like Shu Uemera's. They are very sturdy, and don't pinch if you use them correctly.
If you've never used an eyelash curler they can look very intimidating or scary. But in fact they are extremely gentle and the results do great wonders. Investing in one, preferably Shu Uemera, is highly recommended. It will become an essential part of your daily makeup routine.
Eyelash curlers are a great compliment to mascara. A personal favorite is YSL's Faux Cils mascara because its thick and black, the wand is not too thick, and most importantly it contains Castor Oil to help aid eyelash growth.
I used to buy Shu Uemera eyelash curlers from Sephora but I believe they don't carry the brand anymore. It can be found in any department store in USA or London (ex: Nordstrom, Selfridges).

Let's talk: Nail Polish

Summer 2011: This summer Chanel released an unusual color for nail polish, but it became the essential summer color- Chanel's Mimosa.

Fall 2011: I am also a die-hard Essie fan. I recently bought Essie's Fall collection.

Its conveniently small sized since I never really finish my nail polishes before they harden or go out of style. I'm particularly fond of the khaki green color- "Sew Psyched"

Whats next: Chanel will be releasing a collection inspired by Blue Jeans. It will be out in a week or so. Can't wait for it!

Still Obsessing

I'm still obsessing over this color from Essie.
Its called Sand Tropez and as you can see it has a sandy color to it. For me, I like to see it as a chay 7aleeb color. I might have been obsessed with the name more than the color, but the color grew on me with time. Its the ultimate nude or neutral color that goes with everything. I've seen it on so many nails since spring and all through the summer. I can still see it being worn in fall just because of how neutral it is. If you haven’t tried it yet, you must. Its such a pretty color even though it might seem that the tone is boring.

PS: Make it your Eid nail polish ;P
